Karaoke Machine issues

I got the Karaoke Machine prop, and I'm trying to use it in a scene, but when I try to pose the mic cord, the amplifier part of the prop gets posed instead, getting all distorted. Am I doing something wrong? Does anyone else have this prop, or have you had this issue?

It happens to me too, so it's not your fault :)

The morphs all seem to be working on the machine itself, instead of the cord. What I did, was right click on the Karaoke Machine.CR2 in the Content Library pane, then select, Browse to File Location. I changed the name of the DUF file, by putting my initials in front of it, and then DAZ Studio will load the CR2 and not the DUF file.

The textures look like they need a bit of work, but the cord then works using the morph sliders.

I will report this as a bug, and I hope it will be fixed soon

Thanks. I'll give that a try and see what happens.

I found a DSON file, the CR2 file and a PNG file - no DUF. Am I supposed to change the name of one of these?

If you go to Content Library > Poser Formats > My DAZ 3D Library > Props > Karaoke Machine, you will find the 3 props in there.

Select the Karaoke Machine.CR2, right click, and select 'Browse to File Location', there you will see the folder in Windows Explorer. There should be a DUF file for each of the 3 items as well as Poser files (CR2, PP2)

DAZ Studio will ignore the CR2 file when there is a DUF present, that is why I renamed the DUF file so that the name is different to the CR2, and therefore DS does not see it.. Instead of renaming, you could just drag it onto your desktop or delete it (it doesn't work anyway).

In any Poser format library, if there is a DUF file with EXACTLY the same name as a CR2 file, the DUF will be used inside DAZ Studio. hope that helps a bit. If it seems too complex, just leave it for a while, and I'm sure it will appear in DIM soon as a Product Update.

The DSON file is the .duf file. I would suggest loading the model and saving a Materials Preset, if one isn't supplied, before renaming the .duf file - they you shouldn't have to fiddle around with settings.

Has this been reported as a content bug?

Edit: looking at this, I'm not sure how deleting the .duf could help - there's no native-format asset, just the CR2 (plus, presumably, material settings in the the .duf file).

    I reported it this morning.

All I did was rename the DUF file to get DS to load the CR2 instead. The morphs for the microphone work correctly in the CR2 version, but only distort the entire machine when the DUF version is used.

I renamed the DSON file, as was suggested - and now I can morph the mic cord. Now I just have to play with it and see what does what. Thanks, guys.
