*** Solved *** Slow/sluggish respons times with DAZ Studio (Surface tab)
Lately while working just with in the Surface tab DAZ Studio has been slow to respond, such as changing a colour, diffuse strength, Positive bump or even Opacity Strength. anything with in the Surface Tab. I've had my DAZ Studio freeze up as it works through this issue. most of the time it take around 20 seconds to work through. I've tried remove/delete and reload of DAZ Studio but it still persist.
But this problem is even when there is nothing in the scene but G2f, wearing a simple bodysuit. and there is no light, no back ground, no shaders, no skin, no hair, nada.
Note: DAZ is up to date, System is an I7 4.2Ghz 16Gb ram. Video is an AMD Radeon R7. 2Gb ram. with about 3.4Tb of space left on the hard drive for DAZ work.
I'm of the opinion this problem stems from the 'data' folder since it's the only thing that hasn't been removed or deleted each time I try to troubleshoot this problem myself. And CMS does not work, and hasn't worked since 4.2.
Any help anyone can give would be great.
thanks.

Are you sure you didn't have an update to your video card driver?
It sounds to me like that, because changing something in the surface tab leads to update of the preview ... or your remove/reload of DS set your preferences of your preview to something else than before?

I had that effect with the Reality4 plugin: adding a delay to every surface value and so on. I guess the plugin tracks every surface parameter change and sends it over to the Reality window. Was more like 1 second, not 20, though.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I took some of my old advice when DAZ went 4.0. I uninstalled DAZ Studio and installed it outside of the c:\ProgramsFiles directory, and it's smoking fast now. everything is responding like it should.
Why it suddenly slowed down, I don't know, probably MSWindows doing the usual thing it does over time...slows down and needs a complete dump and flush and reload.
but again, thanks for the input, I was wondering if Reality was part of the problem and acting up...it's done that too me too.
