Would there be a way to lock a cameras position even if selected in viewport?

It might just be a me problem but soo many times im playing around in a scene, adjusting things, fine tunning.

"What if we move that hand up just a tad so its touching [object] better, oof that foot is clipping..." ect

Only to find out i was on my camera the whole time! Then i have to play the game of trying to get the camera back where I had it before.

is there such a thing of a lock that no matter where I or anything else tries to move it, it will not move until the lock is off?

Thanks!

You can select the camera in your scene pane and lock the transforms.

MikeD has a script to lock the camera here. It might save you a few mouse clicks.

Awesome, thanks! I'll certainly give it a shot here in a bit

  • Add a camera  while copying current viewpoint and cheecking the box on bottom. this will save your possition in a save and reload. I have not tried. but possible switching to another cammer to pan around and only switching back to the photo cammera you made to check the scene may save it. If you pan this camera you will lose the possition you saved.
