Great updates, Headwax, Stezza, and UB. I tried commenting before but the forum was acting up. Thanks for the comment on the Creature from the Black Lagoon, Philemo. Sorry if I missed anyone. From North by Northwest to Doris Day to Indiana Jones, brings back great memories. I spent three days on a train going from DC to San Francisco, but sadly Eva Marie Saint did not sit with me in the dining car.
The wildest most iconic film released in 2002 !
my take on it
using Genesis2F, HW cat Daz Elephant, I modelled the terrain, Darwin the monkey from Rendo or CP I can't remember
Eliza Thornberry
the movie
HW, I appreciate the good words. In his early days (50s to 60's), Mort became famous for his illustrations in men's adventure magazines, a style which I tried to capture in a small way. Later, he became known for historical paintings, particularly the American Civil war. He is still alive at age 90, which is pretty cool.
Stezza, as usual you do great ensemble renders. I have no idea what the movie is, however.
PS - if there is an elephant in the render, I can't see it. :)
ahhh... but you did
Not an Entry
I remain in the spirit of this challenge even if the forum software does not let us post. Some doodling with the GMIC filter to mimic black and white film.
The iconic Bridgette Bardot has a famous scene from Love is My Profession.
If it is too dark, it is because I forgot the chandelier.
Here is the IMDB entry and one of the DVD covers.

Stezza, I do not know the 2002 film, but I love the render.
very sexy - the black and white sings - nice dominant pose on the chap
whimsical - you could do movie posters!
"Talk to the Animals?" "My Fair Lady?" :)
whimsical - you could do movie posters!
"Talk to the Animals?" "My Fair Lady?" :) Pygmallion - somone with an Eliza in it :)
"Feel the Force Luke"
I did the render then composited Merlin in --- err I Mean ObeeOneKanobie :)
Prepost - and post post (6000Pixels)
sorry real prepost I had scene aura ? turned on to make the glow, glow.
added reflection to some parts of the scene so I could use caustics - the light sabre is from a nice person on sharecg as is the retxturing of Valiant Garn trousers and boots.
the top is cheyenne top retextured -
the sci fi cabin has been retuxtured on the lights area
reworked yesterday's image as I thought it was garish = 6000 pixels
used normal map to relight the original render - the method is worth a gander if you have affinity photo Relighting 3D renders | Affinity Photo for desktop tutorials (serif.com)
UB - North by NorthWest captures that biplane scene nicely !!!
Stezza - I can see the Elephant, lovely render !!!
Diomede - awesome legs on Bardot !!!
Headwax - I like the garish version of Luke the most !!!
thanks Bunyip 02 :)
thanks everyone...
I'm batching this week so may have a week of watching Star Wars and Star Trek
wacky BUS STOP
love this style Stezza - how exactly did you do that backdrop - looks like a real cartoon !
Toonworks deluxe
thanks very interesting !!!
thanks very interesting !!!
Surprised it is not an entry. Very well done. Who is the male character?
Bunyip, thanks for the NBNW comment.
HW - I agree with Bunyip. I also like the first version of Luke the best. I guess that garish is in the eye of the beholder. :)
thank you UB - I thought it was over processed :) Yes garishness is in the eye of the beholden :)
+1 !!!
not an entry ~ just playing around between forum failures!
That would make a nice movie project in Carrara. Break down the movie cut by cut, save out the soundtrack, and use carrara to duplicate each scene, using carrara actors.
~ and then ~
The Fifth Elemnt - "MultiPass"
Thats a classic film and your image sums up an iconic scene beautifully @ed3d!
Well, thanx _very much
~ and then ~
I agree, it looks good. But where is the actual multipass? :)
