Making a Roller Shade prop for Daz3D Question

I’m taking my first baby steps into 3D modeling with Blender to make props for Daz3D. I have an idea for a prop I’d like to make but I’m confused on the Daz3D part.
I’d like to make a simple roller shade where I could be able to control the shade going up and down using a morph.
So I thought I could “morph” the shade part by making it smaller or stretch it out, but it would me a thin cube, how could I do this and would the mesh be either stretched out or smashed together which would screw up the texture??
I’m googling to figure this out but I thought I’d ask you guys too.
Thanks...

Why not make the part going up/down a primitive plane and hide the part above the roller inside a wall, giving the impression that it is rolling around the roller.
or, assuming you are wanting the bar at the bottom and the loop, model it as a separate piece and use a morph to slide it up and down.
