Carrara Animation Challenge Week #3 - "Ooops" or "Fall"
Hey guys,
Here is the new weekly animation challenge. The Ooops was Mark Bremmers idea.
Rules
1. Animation should be based on the theme "Ooops" or "Fall" Whatever this means to you.
2. Animation length . No longer than 10 seconds.
3. Animated with Carrara as the main tool.
4. Feel free to ask for help if you run into problems, this is supposed to be a learning tool to improve your animation/Carrara skills.
5. If you need a simple model , just ask . Someone might just model it for you.
5. You have 1 week to finish your animation.
6. Post your animation to your preferred site (youtube, vimeo etc.)
7. If you want you can post your carrara file so others can download and learn from the file.
Have fun with this.

This is cool, Mike. Thanks for posting these!
Lunch time. Here's what I came up with:

The file is here:

Here is my attempt at the fall animation, I did the fall part first then added the ball hitting him/head shake to make it a little more complete.
I will post the file later , the Genesis character makes the file quite large . I will see if I can shrink it down then upload it.

I thought cats were devious trouble makers , now I know. Nice animation Mark.
Love it. And, that's just what happens to me every time a get a new deadline!
I came across this after I made my animation...
Cats and falling stuff
Not to be a Legal Eagle here, but if it contains a Genesis figure (or V4, M3, etc.) then you can't distribute the file.
Perhaps you could distribute an NLA clip of the animation, with an explanation of what figure to use, such as Genesis or Genesis 2?
Okay, I think I uploaded the ski jumper file and that used the genesis figure so I guess I should delete that file.

Oops! M4 shouldn't have gone jogging during the Zombie Apocalypse!
The NLA clip for M4. A walk in place cycle.

Nice. And, he's going to wear out his left shoe like a 4 year-old on a tricycle!
At least it is still brightly colored. ;-)
I still have to work on a couple more zombie walk cycles for my project. I think I'll want a total of three different walks. I'm also curious to see if the rigging on a V4 is close enough to an M4 to work. I'm not looking for perfect, after all, they are zombies.
Ironically, I now know another way to put C7.2 onto the paths of the walking dead. ;-)
Try loading a clip for M4 into the NLA track of a V4. Once the playhead hits the clip, instant Carrara Zombie Apocalypse!
I'll now have to try it in C8.5 Pro.... I hope I have plenty of fresh brains lying about. ;-)
C8.5 doesn't like using an M4 clip in a V4 track either.
Carrara crashes to the desktop.
I expected it not to work, but more along the lines of mesh distortions and such. Ah well. I had hoped to save some time.
err, sorry this isn't within the rules as far as length and stuff but mike's vid reminded me of something I made in 2008....
it's only 45 seconds so that's nearly ten seconds, right? .
by the look of it I've rigged the figure but used a point at modifier on the head to keep it's eye on the ball,
who knows what else I did , maybe put in some ik chains, or maybe I pinched m4's rig sands m4?
maybe I should dig up the file ;)
