Fantastic freebie character
I'll start saying that I don't know the artist and that I found the asset yesterday. I'm only sharing because I fell in love with the character, it's quality and personality, and it's free. I would easily pay for it, as it's now one of my top three characters (including the commercial ones).
The page have mature (nude) renders, but it will show a warning before loading the pictures.

Her name is Nico, and she comes with optional (loadable) hair, two skin tones and optional (loadable) glasses. The artist's name is Talidesade and, as he posted the freebie on Deviant Art, I hope he don't mind me sharing it here. I'm doing it as a token of gratitude for his generosity.
I'll attach a render (made exclusively with free assets) to give you an idea.

Sorry to tell you it but.. the model isn't original.
It's a ripping of a game: Devil May Cry 5, look: LINK
The original game model has been extracted and edited to became a G8F.
I'm not saying it isn't (as I said, I don't know him), but he said he created it based on this character. The only way to find out if he ripped the model or recreated it is asking him. :-)

As I'm not using it for commercial purposes (as she is a game character I couldn't anyway and apart from that I'm just a hobbyist), not a problem for me. But thanks for the heads up! And if you (or anyone else) know how to rip other game characters and turn it into G8F, I'm interested.

I also did time ago a Lightning (Final Fantasy 13) ripped model.. it's not so hard make a morph and riconvert the clothing items. Textures can also be projected.
Actuially it's not allowed to redistribute any of the base textures such as the bump and gloss maps from base Genesis 3, doesn't matter if it's free or commercial, so it's good they didn't include them.
well if its just a shape transfer using morphs I am not sure if it really counts a a rip
I do this too using Zprojection in Zbrush to make clone shapes for my own use, I have for the Unreal Metahumans so I can match up DAZ clothes to them, HW3D figures, iClone CC figures as I only have iC6 you name it, I have even done a Skyrim clone shape, I don't distribute anything, it's just morph shaping on the DAZ mesh and for me, mostly Facegen for the textures using Nifskope to render front and side Skyrim character headshots for example.
One could use face transfer too or Headshop, most games have a screenshot function
He explicitly mentions that in his post. I didn't copy it before because it wasn't related with the rip/not rip debate. :-) From his post:
"The material preset relies on bump textures from the default Genesis 3 (yes, 3, not 8) to work correctly. So you will need Genesis 3 installed."

Cool, can i ask where you are getting the skins for the free characters since they are hard to find and even harder to create from scratch?
The ShareCG page says hair, skin and clothing are not included. They are just for promo render.
A couple of them come with textures.

Thanks for the info, but none of the MRs n the store can be used for free characters, they have to be commercial ones sold in the DAZ or rendo stores. I have only come across one skin, on sharecg that could be used for free characters and even that one looked like he stole it from a MR set and was eventually pulled when DAZ found out about it..
Ah I wasn't aware you couldn't use them on free characters although I have edited them quite a bit in tone and texture but thank you, in future, I will be more mindful
I'm,m afraid that if you currently have freebies using Merchant Resource maps you need to take them down until you can update them with new maps, regardless of how much editing they received.
Considering that this thread already has two different topics
, I'll create another one: does anyone know why ShareCG's registrations are closed? There are lots of assets for free there but one needs to login to download, and registrations are disabled. This is not a (very) new thing, as I had this problem a few months back when I started with Daz. With this unexpected turn of events in this topic 
I remembered and I'm asking again.

Thanks! I can understand the problem, but not the cause. They could make registration mandatory for uploading but not for downloading... It would probably mean far less fake accounts (bugmenot anyone?). Anyway, it's a free service, so there's not much to complain about.
