    Hi Triag

You can create spirals much easier in the Spline editor,. and it's more adjustable there.
if you need to have Verex object you can use EDIT / Convert to other modeller / vertex modeller

Then you can add a few bones to allow movement, if you need that.

Also, the Vertex modelling tools are the same (whether you're in the Vertex editor or the Assembly room).

    hope it helps

3DAGE, so glad to see you back on the forums! Very much missed your wisdom and expertise, and very happy to see you :)

Recently saw a post from someone making the case that there are actually a few more tools available in the assembly room (in modelling mode) than the vertex room itself (mostly because of all the camera changes you can make while modeling for example), thought it was an interesting point.

    Hi Jon :)

Yes, i noticed that,. but ... I don't think there are any "Additional" (modelling tools) in the assembly room,.
you do have more options available in some menu's, but they're not modeling tools, simply assembly room functions you wouldn't see in the Vertex modeller. ... things like Group and ungroup...

The big thing is to be able to adjust your models to fit other models, if that makes sense.

It'd be nice to extend that functionality to the Spline and metaball modellers

Anyway,. Good to see you to,. :)
