Good Morning
I would like to render a spherical Camera view of my latest project.
I can't find what the render settings are.
I am in Carrara 8.5 32 or 64 bit so I do have quicktime options available to me.
I don't see a qtvr option when I render the spherical camera.
So I get a png or what ever I select. I've googled this and searched the forums and can't find the answer.
Any tips would be very appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi 8068 :)
Carrara isn't a Quicktime VR "Authoring application" It can only render a single 360 degree Panorama (environment map)
this can be used as a global environment (background) (in any 3d software) and as a lighting source with a little work you can create an HDRI (in an image editor)
Quicktime support in Carrara is limited to the 32 bit version, as Apple have no QT 64 bit
there are applications for Authoring a QTVR but they're around 100 bucks / euro ..
sorry it's not much help
There is a free version of gardengnome QTVR gui that maves VR movies that work nicely on my android tablet as I turn it around!
Nice to see you Andy!
Andy and Wendy
Yes it does help, saves me a lot of time experimenting with what won't work. ;)
Thank you both! You both have been a great help over the past few years.

Nice to see you too Wendy :)
Nice to see YOU... you have been missed very much. :ohh: Silene
Hi Silene :)
I guess i'm back for a wee bit,. I just needed to get my head out of the real world and get my mind off of things.
I've missed you ALL too
Spherical maps should have a 2 to 1 ratio
8000 x 4000 is common and takes quite some time to render, if it's a complex scene. If you don't need the ground to be great, you may try lower. For distance, be sure to remove any zoom from the camera.
Wendy that software works great! Simple.
Dart i'll give 8k by 2k a shot.
Only problem i have if focus front a back looks soft focus.
Like depth of field but i'm not using depth of field.
So i'll try to bump up rez.
Thanks.

8 x 2 will be too stretched. Use 8k x 4k!
8k 4k! Brain slip
Andy,
WOW !!!! I haven't seen you post here in, like, forever !!!! I was starting to worry about you. I hope all is well for you. Good to see you.
Thanks Joe :)
It's nice to have some time to jump into the forums and Carrara again. It's a much needed distraction from the real world.
I noticed your post on "Post work" and render passes,. there's some nice info and examples of "how to" do it . ..good job.
maybe you could condense that into a PDF tutorial, once it's finished.
Good to see you too
and you're smiling happy smiles... I think :)
Wendy
Which file format did you render to for android? What app did you use in the android that pans as you move the tablet?
Thanks again!

not sure as I scrubbed my android recently of all my apps and videos been trying unsuccessfully to root it fr a firmware update but it was free media player that played most formats one of the google play recommended ones I actually chose for .mov files originally.
actually I must say I USED to be able to easily view them on my android
Google play has decided my Samsung Galaxy G-P1000 is obsolete and most my apps stopped working after updates hence my desire to do a firmware update
sadly Kies also will not work or the OneClick.apk app
