Daz 4.7 issues
I have been using Daz 4,7 for MAC a few weeks and it was working well. I then merged some content files from another site. I now have an error message that says that the "files are not found". It then shows a strange figure when selecting the content from my library manually.
I have looked at old forums that have said that I need to change the file location edit/preferences however preferences is not showing up there. (How do I find the file location?)
I also reinstalled Daz and all my content but now may files are missing with a little yellow triangle So I copied the original folder of content back to users/ shared/My DAZ 3D Library . In addition, my smart library is not showing up at all.
PLEASE HELP!!!
regards
Natalie

I have moved your thread to the New Users Help Forum, and am about to go and find our Mac user CV to help you
It looks like multiple problems that manifesting.
First - installing 3rd party content is rather difficult if you do not know exactly how it's done. That's why I wrote a program once, called RendoInstall, which I recently updated to better handle DS stuff as I had over 1400 external zips to install, so it was faster to rewrite the program than installing that manually.
RendoInstall 2.0b3: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/freestuff/?item_id=75114
Secondly, I think you need to do some maintenance on the content database as it is clearly pointing wrong.
In the Content Library Tab, click in the little control meny and do as the pictures below says.
Thanks. The little yellow triangles are go however I am still getting message with everything I select: e.g Some assets needed to load the file were missing. THe content may not work. The following file could not be found"
/dataDAZ ED/ Fenesis 2/ Female/ Genesis2Female.dsf
When I click it the genesis female is a grey square robot looking model!
That means that DS can't find the data folder where the info is stored.
Please provide some screenshots of your current Content Directory setup. You find it under Preferences and the Content Librray Tab and the big button saying [Content Directory Manager...]
, and compare what it says to where things are installed...
Here are the screen shots! Also your PDF file for program doesn't open. Do you have one that works?
You have two content directories configured, which is DIM installing to?
And weird, the PDF should work, but here is a link to dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nv20t82q802hm2m/RendoInstall-2.0-Manual.pdf?dl=0
I realized that and removed my documents link as all the files I copied to directory and then moved back to shared/My Daz 3D. However it is still not recognizing it. In install manage it have it set up to path shared/My Daz 3D in install manager.
Just checked a file from fresh install and it is showing. However, I moved the whole file away and brought it back and now not recognising it eventhough it is there.
If you use the Content Library Tab and not the Smart Content Tab, does it find it then? If so, did you reimport metadata as I said?
Have already done that and it still does not load. Tried you program. Wish I found it sooner. It is AWESOME!
Hmm, then you probably have trashed the data folder os accidentally renamed it. In "Content Location" there is one folder named data.'
In that case, I would recommend to delete all using DIM, do a "Reset Database" in the Content DB maintenance" and install again.
In DIM when you hover an installed item, it will show the path DIM installed it to, can be a hint too.
Thank you. Figured that as the Data is 0 but the new uploads are now going into that file. Live and learn!
Do you know of any program that is cheap that you can adjust the materials to make your own clothing (I do have photoshop). Also I would like to make my own hair. I was looking at carrara. Can it do that?
Materials - all you need is photoshop and skill.
Hair - take a look at Garibaldi Hair and Look At My Hair, both are for making hair. Personally, I like Garibaldi better for hair and LAMH for fur.

LAMH: http://www.daz3d.com/look-at-my-hair
Thank you for your help. Very much appreciated
