Luck of the Draw

The Rules For This Months Freebie Challenge are:
1. A minimum of (5) Freebies must be included in your image along with Links to the freebies you have used. For an item to be considered free it must be offered as a freebie for the whole month. The exception to this rule is all Daz Bi-Weekly Freebies will be allowed throughout the entire month in which they are free as well as the month following their release as a freebie (For a total of 2 months). Also, if a freebie is broken down into multiple downloads/links/parts (IE like if the freebie is broken down into 3 zips etc...)it only counts as 1 freebie, not 3.
2. There will be a Maximum of 5 purchased items.
3. Base figures (All Gen 2,3,4, and Genesis 1,2,3) as well as their general morphs packs (Morphs++ and similar) do not count as a purchased item or a freebie and may be used as needed
4.Your Rendered Picture must be a new render and postwork is allowed but you MUST include a before and after Postwork versions of your entry in the Entry Thread.
5. All DAZ 3D Programs are allowed (IE Bryce, Carrara, Daz Studio and Hexagon) plus Poser for the contest.
6. All entries are subject to the Daz3D TOS Found Here: Terms Of Service
7. You may enter a Maximum of 4 Entries per month.
8. You may edit your entry as much as you like in the main thread but once it is posted to the "Entries Thread" it may not be further modified. Also, if you edit or add things, be sure you update any links or freebie changes you make.
This Freebie Challenge will end Thursday March 31, 2022 @ 23:59 Daz time.

Hi skywalker... sky... I don't have a computer anymore just an iPad now so I haven't made a render in years. I do miss it.
I'm sorry to hear that! Who knows, may be DAZ will develop an iPad version... though freebie collecting would be an absolute nightmare... come to think of it, even if I were able to download freebies to an iPad, all the memory it would take up would probably cause it to grind to a complete stop.
Until then, keep on posting your prior works... who knows who it may inspire next!
People must be having the same kind of problem that I've had with months theme, since there are no entries (until now) and it's past mid month. Hope this continues so I'll have a better chance on being first for a change. Having said that, here is my entry for this month.
The term "Luck of the draw" isn't really that old, just a bit more than myself. It statred in the mid 1940's in the USA, and related to various card games that were commonly played back then. So, since it started with cards, I'll stick with that.
Much older than that though, about sixty-five years, is the legend of the poker hand James Butler "Wild Bill" Hickok was said be holding when he was murdered on 2 August 1876 in Deadwood, Black Hills, Dakota Territory, by Jack McCall. He died instantly from a point blank pistol shot from the back of his head. Whether the story is true or not, who knows, but the story of his poker hand still stands today. That hand of cards is called a "dead man's hand" for that very reason, and is comprised of two pair, black aces over black eights, with any other fifth card not an ace or eight. It is considered very bad luck to hold, hence a BAD "luck of the draw". Back in the '70's during my time in the Navy, I even knew a guy that discarded one of each card hoping for a better draw rather than play that hand to the end. Very superstitous that fellow.
But, when you get right down to it, maybe old Bill's end, or anyone else's for that matter, isn't really that bad of a draw at all. Depending on what you believe, maybe in the end, he went on to a better place than we have here.
Sorry for such a crappy entry, but for this month, this is the only idea I've had and there's not a lot that can be added to this sort of scene so it's kinda short on freebies.

I must admit the title fills me with incipient indifference, and added to the frantic life I have at the moment, I don't feel greatly enthused to make an entry. Maybe an inspiron will strike. They do every now & again.
Must admit my normal rendering has dropped off too, last Rendo image at the end of Feb and I tend to show there more than anywhere else, so I think it's more of a symptom of a busy life for me than total indifference to the title.

It's not that I'm indifferent to the theme this month, I just couldn't think of anything to do. Though like Richard, I don't render as much anymore, a systemic lack of insperation most of the time. I did do ten entries to Rendo's pinup contest early this month (I could only enter five though). Might upload the extras someplace after the contest is over. You might consider that as a theme (for a man or woman cave). Leaves it pretty much open as to the type of pin-up. Girls, Men, cars, motorcycles, boats, whatever someone might pin up on the wall.
Though I know what I'll be working on, after all all, I'm just a dirty old man. Bet there are some dirty old women out there too.
Another thought might be one based on the "It's raining men" contest that ran for several years untill this past year. I would have to be adapted of course for this contest, but it used to have a lot of entries.

Usually after about three days I have one or more ideas for a render. But not this time, no such luck this time, after more than 2 weeks still not a single real idea for this month's theme. And that while I quite like this month's theme...
Thanks for the feedback so far, I will take up BronzeDragons ideas to our list and we will see how we can adapt them to our freebies challenge.
Generally I would think that the topic we offer is just a hook from witch you can spin in any direction, don't let yourself be stopped from something because you think it doesn't completely fit the topic
I am going to post a render for you all today to show what Linwelly is talking about which is you do not have to stick with the theme per say as you can make your own spin on the theme!
I will be posting said render later on this afternoon once it is done and I get back from errands I have to do today!!
I do hope it will inspire you all to make your own spin on this theme!!

Just a little piece about depression, something I struggle with quite a bit. She holds a great hand, and tries to put on a happy face, but in reality she's so sad and upset, for no good reason. The colors are supposed to make you think of old tv soap operas, because I thought it would look fitting. And don't worry, I'm fine, just needed to get these emotions rendered out apparently!

I tweaked the materials and the pose. Set up and rendered within Daz Studio Iray. Quite a bit of Postwork done in Pixelmator to fix colors and add a smile to the mask, I hope that’s ok! I’ve attached the before post render (the one that says Render) and the finished image file.
Re spinning in any direction, my muse went off like the steel ball in a pinball machine , so I'm not short of ideas - just short of can-I-be-arsedness.
Several terrible bits of word-play sprang to mind...
If anybody feels inspired by any of those go ahead and use the idea !
