    Happy Anniversary Aave Nainen!

Purchased the MeriMay dress this morning and it is definitely a great product with so many options! I really also love the fact that there are corresponding poses for the dress to match Genesis 2 Female poses.
I will definitely be buying more of your store items in the future. :-)

    Dear Aave Nainen,

I bought some of your products..for example the Business Class Two. I wanted to use it on Victoria6 only I can't find the
G2F Base poses? The poses I find would not fit the cloths?
In what directory are the poses corresponding the morphs for the outfit?

    Can you help me?

    Hi designphoto!

The draped morphs for corresponding poses are in the Parameters pane under Actor/Genesis 2 Female Poses and Actor/Custom Poses, the base poses for G2F are in G2Female directory in Poses and the Custom poses should be in Poses/Aave Nainen/Seated X Poses. Hope that helps!

if this is the first Aave Nainen outfit you've used you may find it helpful to look at these You Tube videos.

Thanks for the nice dress, it sure has a lot of possibilities.
What I didn't manage yet is for the devided overlay to get rid of the underlying original. From your Promos that seems to be possible, but there is not a differnt material zone in the surfaces editor to dial the opacity, so there must be a different trick.

Can you tell me which promo image and design kit you are looking at? I will have a better understanding of what it is you are wanting to do that way.

I like the look of the Merimay products, but I use Carrara as my main 3D program. I am not sure what technologies are used in the "overlay" system, if it is just texture maps it should work fine (most Poser and DS products do), but if it uses something more complex it may not - are you aware of whether it will work in Carrara?

They are just texture maps applied via Layered Image Editor, nothing complicated but I'm not familiar with how Carrara handles LIE presets. I'm thinking you could get the dress set up with the look you are after, save that as a materials preset then perhaps use Draagon Storms LIE Baker to save that preset if Carrara isn't able to utilize as is. Aside from that you could probably use a 2d editing software to manually create a new texture map by dragging and dropping the texture maps as you want them. The overlay images are png's without backgrounds and all of the texture maps are the same dimensions so that should work.

The MeriMay Dress comes with a few "sampler" Layered presets so maybe try those first before you pick up any of the Design Kits.

I would love to see your results if you do decide to give it a go!

Thanks for the quick response. If they are just PNGs then I may be able to use them directly in the Carrara shader system, as you can layer images with that. So the presets probably would not work, but I could use the maps directly with a little bit of effort. For me that would be easier than using the PIE Baker, although that is another potential route.

The design kit is the MeriMay for Genesis 2 Female(s) ( so the basic), what I would like to do is the stile seen in the
the first render in this thread, the overlay and styles image, and here the 4th and 6th figure in the top row and the 1st in the lower, where the hemline goes with the form of the overlay.
If you could give me a pointer how to do that that would be great.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Linwelly,

The first image above shows the hemline, style and overlays that come with the main MeriMay Dress, the other three images show some of the options available in the three different design kits. If you go to the individual Dress Designer kits you'll be able to see which kit has the options you are looking for.

To use the different options just load the dress onto the figure and navigate to the Materials/Styles folder, then with the dress selected apply the desired materials preset, then the overlay you want and the desired hemline. There are many combinations possible so play around with it. Use Ctrl Click if you want to apply a preset only to selected areas, ie: different preset for skirt, sleeves or bodice!

Do I understand this right, that these outfits don't conform but need poses applied specifically to them?

They conform, but for things like skirts that shouldn't cling to the legs there are poses to make them hang more realistically.

Ok, it seems I'm a bit dim-witted today, so I hope you don't mind I took your promo original to show where I lack understanding.
The ctrl click to select the style I understand, and that works just fine
The red rings show where you can see the legs and the hemline follows the overlay, that is what I would like to achieve, but I alwys end up with the lower dress still seen even when I say replace instead of stack

Okay now I understand, the hemline options are in the Styles folder, so just navigate over to that folder, you won't need to use crtl click to apply the hemline style you want to use, the presets are set up to only affect the hem. In the main MeriMay product all of the hemline options shown in promo image are included. The only time you'll really want/need to use crtl click is when you want to explore combining different overlays ie; applying one overlay to upper dress and a different overlay to lower dress. Hope that helps you out!

Ah, yes, now I found the styles, they where hiding in utilities when I tried to go with the smart content.
    Thanks a lot!

As suspected, the material and style presets don't really work in Carrara, but it is not too difficult to use the supplied maps to get the effect you want if you know your way around the Carrara shader editor. Here is my first render with it, it doesn't really show off the dress that much due to the framing, but at least it shows it can work! Put together in Carrara and rendered with Octane Render for Carrara. Levels adjusted in postwork.
