I would take that to mean you need both.

heres such a figure for example, not one I have a use for, but just in passing since I didn't give an example. I guess I'm not seeing the point of why both items are needed. I guess theres a reason, sure, I just don't understand with my level of experience what it is:

    http://www.daz3d.com/catrina

I examined Catrina's .duf character preset and she is V6 (head and body morph) plus some additional morphs dialed in from the Genesis 2 Female(s) morph bundle. If you load the preset, you'll get error messages it can't find the morphs.

Her texture is using the Base Female UV Set so you can use her texture without the two required products.

Edit: Both V6 head and body are partially applied.

I notice on some figures (on item pages) it will say "required items: Victoria 6, Genesis 2 female body morphs."
Are these two actually Synonymous to an extent?
    No, they're different morph packs.
For V4 it would be akin to requiring morph++ and A4, for example: you need both morph packs to get the same result as in the promos.

In the case of a "character 6" pack the only difference with a character like A4 is that you get morphs and an UV set, not just morphs. So if a character requires V6 it means that it uses either the V6 morph (so required to get the same shape) or the V6 UVs (so required to use the texture).
