Poser prop morph issue

Hello,

I have an older Poser prop that is a collapsible stretcher for an ambulance. It has a morph theat folds and extends the legs. However, when I try to use it in Daz Studio the morph doesn't work and the legs don't move. As best as I can tell the legs are not a separate object as I can not select them to use the translation or rotation sliders. Is there a way to get this prop to work properly in Daz Studio? I can't seem to find a similar prop that is made for Daz Studio.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

It's priobably using an external binary morph target (.pmd) file for the morphs - unfortunately there was a spell when every Poser service pack changed the format of the calls and Daz stopped trying to adapt to them. The only fix is to load in Poser and save with the External Binary Morph Targets option off, assuming you don't have yopur own copy of Poser (that is new enough to read the call format) you would need to contact the maker for that.

I don't know how it looks.

But if it just is a matter of bending the legs down, you might rig it inside Daz Studio.

Or you could take it into a modeller and create a morph.

    Richard,

I do have Poser so I will give your method a try. One question though. If I do save the prop with the .pmd file option turned off, does it create a new geometry file that I would need to bring into Daz Studio as well?

    Felis,

I have never tried to rig anything before so I would need to figure that out first, but it may be my only option if Richard's method doesn't work.

If you turn off Edit>General Preferences>Miscellaneous tab>Use External Binary Morph Targets the only difference is that the morphs are embedded in the file, nothing else will (should) change.

    Hi Mr Haseltine,

the last part of your comment, ( assuming you don't have yopur own copy of Poser (that is new enough to read the call format) you would need to contact the maker for that. ) , has left me a bit confused.

I own the venerable 'Technophilia Gynoid Rock - It' and I'd really like to use the morphs for it that don't work in Daz.

Please could you tell me if a trial version of the latest 'Poser' would be successful in doing as you suggest in turning off  'Use External Binary Morphs.'

    AND

What type of format should it be saved As/In etc.

Thank you very much for helping myself and others.

    John.

    John.

I don't know but would expect it would work, and you would want to save the tiems back to the same library as they loaded from (which should take care of the extension).
