Environment lighting goes dark when I add a spotlight in Texture Shaded view

Hi

This is a bit of a niggle rather than a problem.

I downloaded a prebuilt environment (Cozy House by Brain1969) and put a figure in there. In the position it was in the environment lighting was a bit flat so I added a spotlight to create some highlight and shadow. But as soon as I did, the lighting from the environment disappeared, and all I could see was the spotlight.

When I render (or iray preview) the lighting is fine, both sets of lighting work and I get the image I want, so all is good from that point of view, but in the texture shaded view I have mostly darkness, and given that I spend most of the time in that view it makes things a bit awkward.

Is there a way to get the environment and the spotlight working happily together in texture shaded?

The environment Mode is Dome and Scene, Dome mode is infinite sphere, draw dome is on.

Thanks.

Rich.

Have you tried Crtl-L to light the scene?

  • Hi.

No, I hadn't tried that, and it helps, I can now work around the scene.

But it seems to switch off the spotlight, is there a way to have the general scene lighting and any additional lighting I've added working at the same time?
