Creating animation in Carrara and importing in Daz
Hello people. I'm new to daz , and tried to create animation with animate or timeline, but I find too tedious ( timeline ) or artificial ( animate 2 ) I was thinking of buying carrara, but what I want is to use the Iray render ( I've read that carrara dosen't have it ) so what I would like to do is : Creat char in daz, get it ready for render, export char ( hair, clothes , props ) in carrara, animate all and then export all the animation in daz timeline to render it . I've read that I can export animation in bvh files, but also read that sometimes it looses key, or the animation looks different in Daz. So what I'm asking is : is it possible what I want, and if so, what are the results ?
Regards, Alex/
P.S. I would like to use genesis 2 models, V6 and M6

I wouldn't do that if I were you. Carrara's export function to Daz is erratic. It's true you can export BVH files with Fenric's BVH exporter, but it doesn't export facial expressions and it makes a mess of the fingers.
Much better to start animating in Daz with Animate 2 and refine your animation with Carrara's NAL clips and graph editor.. There's an Octane for Carrara unbiased renderer plugin you can use to render (even it it costs a little money). The results are worthwhile.
Could you please explain : Carrara’s NAL clips . I've done a search but can't find anything relevant. Thanks.
Sorry, I m ade a typo here. It's NLA clips, not NAL clips. For Non-Linear Animation. It's sort of like the aniblocks in Daz Studio. A good introduction is found at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpkTXREwTWk
Oh, great. Thanks mate. Another question, please. How can I find out the size of my scene? I heard that if you a have a big scene, bigger than your video memory can hold , it will render on CPU, instead of GPU. How can I find out the sizes of my scenes? I can't be the size shown in My computer -> file size, can it?
That's what I rely on.
