Tooning

Feeling pretty good about where I'm at with my tooning style. This is with no photo effects done. Just a PNG render straight out of Carrara. The best thing about this minimalist approach is that when the character moves the shadows aren't pixelated or gross like they usually turn out from DAZ/Carrara renders.

    yowza!
    I especially like the background.
Care to share your lighting technique, render settings etc?

Background is a drawing. Didn't mean to confuse! lol

The character is the PNG render (with transparent background). I have them here with a traditional animation background just to see how they feel together, and I'm pretty happy with it.

As for settings, it's just YAtoon at varying degrees applied to the different shaders. Nothing too fancy. :)

Hey if you are drawing like that you don't need Daz figures!
Thanks for explaining - I actually came across a post of yours saying that you had to replace every texture with Yattoon -

    You're very patient.
The effect has a lot of possibilities. Great stuff.
    Cheers from here. :)
