Placing character in huge landscape

Hello,

When I'm using large landscapes like "Ruined Tower" and there doesn't seem to be easy  'to-go" placer for the character (that, or I don't know how to find them), how am I supposed to place my character ? Just using the X,Y,Z bars ?

Thanks for the help !

Press and hold the ALT button on your keyboard.

Click on the character in your library and hold it.

    Drag character into viewport.

You should see a circle on the floor/ground.

This is where the character will be "dropped" in the scene when you release one of the buttons.

Can drag and drop into anywhere in the scene :)

Works with props and just about everythng else you can load into a scene aswell.

I use useful free scripts by mcasual.

mcjjump move an objetct at the position of another. https://sites.google.com/site/mcasualsdazscripts/mcj

mcjcomehere move an object in front of current camera https://sites.google.com/site/mcasualsdazscripts3/mcjcome

If the environment is very large, you may want to move it rather than the character to avoid some issuse you can get when the figure is too far from world center (such as black eyes and other weird Iray glitches). If the envionment is all in one group, you can select the top level and use the X,Y,Z sliders to position it around the character. If not, you can select all the items and use the Create New Group feature (either with the toolbar button or on the Create menu) to do that, then move the group.

If I only have a few characters interacting in a scene, even if it is small, I tend to move the environment as I usually add and pose characters first then drop in the environment.
