Locking Panes

I am starting to run into issues when I rotate my camera.  Every so often (more often than not), when I rotate my camera to look at a scene I am building, I close the the panes that show what's all in the scene and the pane that has all the parameter settings.  Is there a way to lock this in place? It's frustrating trying to look at a scene from a different angle to close that pane then have to reopen it.

If it's docked you can collapse a pane group by clicking the tab of the active pane.

I get that, but I want it locked in place so it doesn't collapse.  Every so often when I rotate the view, that side panel collapses, and I don't want it to, so I want to lock it in place and not be able to collapse
