Nice image.  I'm surprised by the construction of that bike.  It's got a long fork, which kind of puts the driver back somewhat, I'd think.  From what I've seen in photos and movies.  Yet, no back support for the driver.

Never try and make any practical sense out of a chopper, Dana. smiley

Never was a big fan of motorcycles.  But they have to drive these things.  I'd think hanging on to the handlebars to stay upright would get tiring fairly quickly.  What do I know?

Was into bikes back in the 60's and 70's  (mostly Britoish ones)-  those high "ape hanger" bars can be a real pain,  the wind can really put a strain on you, and you will eventually get numbness in your hands. They also really don;t help with control either, especially with long raked out forks.. A rigid rear end can be ok, - my 1936 Harley was a rigid and a sprung saddle and large rear tire helped smooth out bumps.. Crossing railroad tracks, sometimes the rear end would take a bounce sideways, but you got used to it..

Had a BSA 650 hardtailed sprung saddle with 4 over front forks and pull back handle bars

Handled well and wasn't too uncomfortable to ride even off highway on rough gravel roads

4 over is not an unreasonable extension, and if not raked, like you say would handle pretty good..  and yeah, hardtails are ok with a sprung saddle.. save for the aforementioned RR crossings, I never had an issue with a rigid frame, was actually better than the old Triumph sprung hub..

There used to be one of those on S. Main St in the city where I used to live, and it was only a few blocks away from where I lived, so I saw it frequently.  Never saw it in motion.  It had the correct colors.
