    @adbc:
    The proportions are always a thing. The overall look is appealing in version two, but the details like the plane windows and the lifeboats suit version 1 better for me.
    I think version 3 is the best here.

    Gondola - turned out very nice. I like the play of colors. It looks warm and mysterious.

    @ed3D:
    Horo is right. Any entry is better than no entry and who doesn't like the yellow submarine.

    @ Hansmar:
    Both pictures have something. I like the comic version a little more.

    drachenlords - outstanding historical scene, very detailed - and the one with the two horses in the background as a contrast.

    Yes - outstanding Entry Drachenlords. Beautiful.

    Drachenlords, thank you. And what an amazing entry you made now. I am surprised Bryce could handle all those details and not crash. Did you reduce texture sizes and use other tricks to limit the weight of the scene?

  • drachenlordsdrachenlords Posts: 821

    @ yellow pen:
    Thank you.

    @ Hansmar:
    Thank you very much.
      And yes, I reduce all textures as much as possible, reduce the polygon load if possible using a polygon reducer and like to use characters from computer games. These can sometimes be found online from their games. The boy over there, for example, is from Fallout and, with almost 20,000 polygons and a complete texture of barely two MB, has almost no weight in memory.

    + 1  _  And  how did you do the Smokes ??  Thanx

  • drachenlordsdrachenlords Posts: 821

    Thanks Ed3d. The smoke is a mixture of Bryce atmosphere and 2D planes.

    I used Old country farmhouse, Steampunkbike (for the transportation), Tamesis for Victoria 4 with a Summer casual fitte dress and Worldly Jones for Genesis 3. The tree (and an instance), grass and ivy, as well as the potted plants and some barrels came with the farmhouse. I retextured the farmhouse and the plants, as well as the groundplane to have Bryce textures. The stone textures of the house were mostly from RaRaja, whose stone (wall) textures I like a lot. Same for most parts of the bike. The textures for the people were made substantially smaller. Without these retexture activities, Bryce crashed often. The sky is one from Horo (with IBL). I added an additional light to give some light to the people's shadow parts.

    Rendering did not take very long, but modifying the scene is bound to lead to crashes.

    Actually, this scene could have been made and rendered much more easily in DAZ Studio, I think. But, hey, this is a Bryce contest and I am a Bryce-fan, so it was worthwhile. Title: Take her for a spin?

    Yellow Pen, Thank you. I wish I could take credit for the bike, but the bike itself is by Lesthat and Val3dart (Steam Bike Pro | Daz 3D). I did fully retexture it in Bryce to limit the weight of the textures, that were largely picture based.

    ed3D: Wow, that is bad luck! Hope it was not to expensive to replace. Did you intend to add a new render?
