Hey Rorr, great that you are making content :)

I have very little spare time at the moment so not able to test it for you.
The preview image looks nice for a small decoration, something on a table top.
For a very big obelisk I would personally pick something like marble or Granite instead of Agate.

The shape looks great and it seems the textures run around it smoothly, nice job.

    Thanks for the info
No one fused it didn't work so ,Guess where good .

Be nice if DAZ sold more time. There's still so much more to learn.

  • Looks good.  It would be interesting to see with heirogliphics or something... Maybe even some "Alien" writting... hmmmm...  If we wanted to make it look like it was carved into the material, would we use a bump map?

You could use a bump map, but I think a normal map would be better.

50.7 mb seems a bit high.  What is the poly count?   and what size of textures did you use?

Could be used as a game mesh.Poly Counts around 54 quads .png's 2048.
Look In   Runtime\Textures\RorrKonn_Textures\RorrKonn_Textures_Obelisk_XXR_OBELISK_WN-TWO  Your get file size.

You can use any of the black n whites as a bump. there is a normal also ,all just follow the diffuse.
No alien heirogliphics .maybe one day Sci-Fi's one of my fav genre.

I'm new to texturing DAZ meshes .I never could get both parts to reflick like Shetchfab.
One Day I'll get it n theres multiple maps for any one that wants to customize the look.

.bumps where invented first then they invented normals.
u can use a bump for displacement maps. That raises the polycount.

you can paint alien heirogliphics bumps in gimp with a mouse.
thou with certain software and I think you need a tablet you could paint simple alien heirogliphics normals.
You could paint alien heirogliphics but not a normal map for a character

but mostly you bake normals to lower the polycount.
    1.Sculpt a hi polycount mesh
    2.retopolgize it.
3.Bake the hipolycount mesh in to a normal map for the low poly version.
you can't bake a bump map like a normal map.

Thou bumps n normals both could be used to make alien heirogliphics.
    There diffrent tools.
