Wow, it has been a long time since I have done the freebie challenge.
It was a lot of fun.
I tried to visit a lot of different sites, both new and old.
Hopefully all the links work out.
The free Iray shaders are really great and helped breath some new live into some old freebies.
I spent a lot of time looking for a friend to travel in the basket.

What I did was to attach the file as an attachment the way you did, then edit the post after submitting it. If you right click on the attachment and do "Copy Link Location" then you can edit the post and click on the "image" icon which lets you link to the same image in the body of the post. Then it looks like a full image, not just a thumbnail. I did notice that the forum is applying some additional image compression to the image, which is not entirely desirable, but that's what it's doing. It seems like a chicken-and-egg deal having to upload the file as an attachment before you can link to it.

clicking on the attachment brings it up to real size. You don't have to attach a file if you have a Gallery here, you can bring up your gallery image and right click on that to get the image location. Or of course if you have your own site you can use the link from your own site.
However for contests it is much easier if images are attached, as that will make it easier to make up a judging thread of images using the links from the attached files.
Are you saying we should not be inserting the images inline in the thread, only the attachment? That would certainly make the thread more compact, but maybe not as nice looking to scan through. Although the rules for this contest don't specifically say it, other contests generally don't want the image posted anywhere else until the contest is over. I usually do that out of habit. I'm OK with just using the attachment method, tho. I may update my entry. I think the ocean looks a little too busy.
BTW Cho, there are a couple of entries that haven't been checked and accepted yet...
Find me that extra couple of hours in the day and I will get them checked. At the moment I am working 14 hours a day with just one break.
Heck when I was working in real life most I ever did was 11 hour days.

No. what I was trying to say is please attach the entries, If you then want to use the link from the attachment to show it in full that is fine. Just that it is easier to make the thread up if you do it this way. Images inserted from else where still need the attachment. And yes, we do need the Image to be posted here before it is added anywhere else. How ever I don't think we have ever said in the freebie challenge that you can't show it elsewhere once it is entered here, I know we don't insist on that in the NU contest, only that the time stamp for your entry should be before the time stamp for posting it elsewhere.

That's odd, because the set was still a freebie at the beginning of the month. I used them in my first entry. Kismet can confirm that since she checked out my freebies from that entry.

I don't think that's really necessary. We've at least confirmed that it has been a weekly freebie for at least part of this month, so it should still qualify based upon the rules.
