I haven't used Mimic in a long while and it is not cooperating in 4.8. Is this due to the new version of Daz Studio, or is it simply that Mimic won't play with a Michael 6/ Genesis 2 figure? What other tools are there for lip syncing dialogue?
I think it works. Are you using the Genesis 2 DMC file?
The Genesis 2 DMC is in General/Mimic_Configs/Genesis2.dmc in whatever library DIM installed the Genesis 2 Starter Essentials. This, however, is not a directory that the Mimic plugin will ever look at. The Mimic plugin seems to look in Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4/plugins/dzmimic/Conguration_Files. I just copied the Genesis2.dmc into that directory and Mimic then worked with Genesis 2.
Thanks. That did the trick. Of course that still requires the 32 bit version and I only had the 4.6 in 32. I take it Mimic would work in a 32 bit version of 4.8? So I could render in Iray?
Answering my own question: Found that I could use mimic in 4.6 32 bit, save the file, then open the file in 4.8 64 bit and the dialouge keyframes are still there. The only glitch now is that for some reason the character's eyes have no text...they're just oddly gray and I can't seem to re-apply an eyeball material.
I have http://www.daz3d.com/mimic-live and It works on 64 bit Win 7. There is the old LipSync plugin that only runs in 32 bit. If you have Mimic Live, you should be able to get a 64 bit, but it is Windows only.

Yes, the glitch is the window only part as I'm on a mac. So there's no mac version of this...or would that be mimic pro?
I think Mimic pro is a Carrara plugin. It does apparently work on Macs though.
