Installing 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Carrara 8.5

Hi. Can I install both versions of Çarrara 8.5 (regular and Pro) on a Mac Pro running OS X 10.6.8 and switch between the versions to see which one works better for me?

Also, can someone point me to a reference source for tried and true installation steps? Is Installation Manager the best way to go? I'd like to do a custom install and hold off on the Genesis essentials for now until later.

You should be able to. Also, if you enter the 64 bit serial number into the 32 bit application, it will unlock the 32 bit "Pro" features.
