Can any one explain what Fenric's MDD File Format Converter would allow you to do as compared to Digital Carver Guild's DCG Importer?

MDD and sequenced objects are different file formats. MDD is very suited to animated characters, as it saves the OBJ object decription once only, and then the MDD file says where all the vertices are on each frame of the animation - but how they are linked, surface information, etc, always refers back to the original OBJ file. Fenric's plugin allows these to be exported and imported, I use it mostly to move animated characters to Marvelous Designer and to re-import the animated clothes from that and it works brilliantly for that.
An OBJ sequence is just that, a sequence of complete OBJ files, so each file contians a complete object description. This is most useful for animations where the geometry itself changes over time, so the same vertices are not necessarily connected together. The example which comes to mind is fluid animations, done in say Blender. It looks like the DSG plugin only imports into Carrara but does not export.
I hope this helps.
