I didn't see these under "Roads and related items" so I thought I'd add them here...

And I updated my "License Plate And Frame" model, I corrected the geometry (better triangulation) and fixed the poor looking diffuse channel.
I had to download it the other the day because I couldn't find it on my hard drives, and when I looked at it, I kinda felt bad about it looking the way it did.

Thanks!
(I've been busy getting the freebie wiki into shape and doing something about the spammers, so maintaining the actual freebie lists has taken a back seat, alas. (Eek - it's been three months since I looked at ShareCG!) I'll have to sweep the lists sometime soon ... but that's a "Daz Soon".)
Found on ShareCG and not in the list:

Hi,
I've been trying to find a good Shelby Cobra model and I'm glad that I found this thread, but the link to the free shelby cobra is down.
The site is under maintenance, does anyone know how to download the file from another source?
Thanks :)
Here's an nine-year-old car model that is still good enough for background work. It doesn't have any steering morphs or anything fancy:

The maker (Arcadiazone) has several other vehicles of a similar vintage in his ShareCG gallery:

Kadaj777 did you ever find that shelby? the site is (still down) and now I can only find it in the archive:
https://web.archive.org/web/20150320060534/http://www.ontarget3d.com/site/Products/962-shelby-cobra-for-poser.aspx
Sadly, ontarget3d has no way of registering so one may download it.
Hopefully another Shelby entheusiast has saved it and will provide a link.
Seems like RobKelk hasn't posted since about this time.
Do let me know if you find it or a good back up.
Thank you.
Thank you WandaW it works from your link without having to create an account.
These models are OBJ or FBX or Blend.

Does anyone know where I can get a free or somewhat inexpensive armoured bank van?
The only one I know of was by Cronoz-artes at 3D warehouse... but that's going to be in SKP format (SketchUp) or DAE (Collada), so you'd have to convert it... and do whatever tweaking might be necessary to make useable in DS.
Thanks McGyver. And as I have no experience in doing this, how would I convert it?
You could use Blender to convert the DAE to OBJ... but that requires a little bit of knowledge about Blender, it's basically just- import DAE, export OBJ.
There are free online file converters which would probably do the same, but I've never used them...
At the moment, these are the only two I can find links to...
https://www.meshconvert.com/
http://www.greentoken.de/onlineconv/
Please note, that I've never used them, I've just heard of them... there is another one that I know people here have used, but I can't find the link anywhere in my collection of links and crap.
Another option is Ultimate Unwrap 3D... that's paid software for UV mapping, the pro version is around $60, but it imports and exports a ton of different formats, particularly SKP... I use SketchUp often and it's very good at converting my models to other formats.
I wrote a mini tutorial a while ago for people who are interested in converting SketchUp and 3D Warehouse models for use in DAZ studio, but nobody really seems interested and at the moment I have no idea which hard drive or computer that's sitting in.
EDITED TO ADD- Sorry, I didn't realize which thread this was, I came here from another thread and thought this was related to the Car And Bike Lovers thread, so sorry if I interrupted a thread of links.
also https://pcon-planner.com/en/download/ does Sketchup conversions
I've run through this enough time to have gotten the hang of it. The basic steps are:
(1) Download your model from 3D Warehouse as a Collada file;
(2) Open the file in Sketchup (any version will do);
(3) You'll want to break down all of the components by 'exploding' them (Edit > Component > Explode). You'll have to do it a few times until there's nothing left to explode. Then;
(4) Export (File > Export > 3D model) as a Collada file again;
(5) Import the file into Blender, make sure that all of the pieces fit together;
(6) If you're familiar with Blender, this is a good place to make more tweaks, but if not, you can export it (File > Export) again (as Collada or OBJ);
(7) Now you can import it into Daz, and it should do so in one piece/without exploding.
(8) Having a good set of material shaders is really helpful!
Thanks McGyver, WendyLuvsCatz and Blando Calrissian for the help and suggestions.
Yes, I was able to, Thank you!

Free download: my list of free car models - as of 2022-04-25
It provides you with the web links to the download page for each vehicle.
Cars, Buses, Trucks, Tanks, Construction, Walkers (“Mech”), Hoverers, Trailers, Toys
Sorry, no motorcycles, yet.
At just 2,000 items on 2020-04-25, the list barely scrapes the surface of what’s available. But it could be helpful.
I include links from anywhere on the internet. But as of 2022-04-25, I include everything from the following sources:
All of the car models by Birdman.
All of the car models on BlendSwap.
All of the car models on https://poserdazfreebies.miraheze.org/wiki/Autos.
All of the car models by 600v / Rustshake. But, unfortunately, all those links are dead (and marked as dead on the list). I hope this is a temporary consequence of the Russia/Ukraine war, as 600v / Rustshake lives in Russia and may not have been able to pay their Patrion bill.
It is a spreadsheet, which means you can sort the list on various columns of information.
It is made in LibreOffice and is in .ods format. I suspect that means the spreadsheet can be opened in most other office programs like Microsoft Office.
Of course it is a work in progress. As I add more items, better ways of categorizing may prompt me to revise my categories accordingly.
Regardless, there are some ongoing category ambiguities that may never be resolved. For example, the branding of Mini cars, whether they be Astin-Martin, or Austin, or the Cooper versions of either.
The boundaries between categories are often subjective and fluid. As I hunted for models to include, many were on the borderline for me and my decision was based on my mood at the time.
I did not include motorcycles. But I did include some motorcycle-like vehicles as long as they didn’t look too much like a classic motorcycle.
