Is there a way to hide/unhide the window panes?

You can either "collapse" them by clicking the currently active pane tab - this is toggleable behaviour so clicking them again "uncollapses" them. Alternatively, right-click the tab and select "Close Pane" to remove it from your workspace.

To re-add ones that have been closed, you can select them from the WIndows->Panes(Tabs) menu option. Panes can also be docked in any location or allowed to "float" by dragging the tabs about.

 Don't click on the Pane itself but the Tab - the bit that has the name of the pane. The Main/Central area won't collapse but those to the left, right and bottom should do.

 I just clicked and clicked, I did discover using the up arrow gets you to the top "DAz studio formats" in content which is great to know for refeshing quickly

On any tab. But the trick is doing it on the tab you have currently in use. If you click on another tab, you will change them, not collapse them.

If you want to hide one specific tab or panel, (not all the panels grouped) go to Window > Panes (Tabs) and click the one you want to hide or unhide.

Sorry I meant when the menu panes are floating-I like to see the preview big so I dont use the panes docked

Shift+F11

This shortcut puts the viewport into full screen mode and hides all toolbars and tabs.

Pressing the key combination again brings your layout back to 'normal'.
