is it needed to save the morph before saving as shaping preset?

is it needed to save the morph before saving as shaping preset?

or can I just  save the shaping preset directly? this is for one or multiple morphs applied at once to g8f

Are the morphs custom morphs? Or instead are they morphs already saved in your content library /data folders?

If they already exist as a saved morph asset, then you can just save preset.  But if they havent been saved as morph asset yet, best practice is to save them as morph asset first, which will save them to /data folder of your specified content directory.

Sometimes you can save the higher-level presets without first saving the relevant /data folder assets (im not sure if it lets you do this with the morphs used by shaping presets tho), but even if it did, that is bad practice because that would embed any geometry etc into the preset instead of calling it from the /data folder.

  • If you are making these morphs from scratch, then yes, they must first be saved as morph assets. [otherwise presets will either not save or will make a big mess in the data folders].

If these are dialed in morphs from an already existing set, then no -- just save the presets.
