Face Paints not showing on G9 Figure

in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

I am a long time Poser user and just getting into learning Daz so I can access the G9 content, I got these face paints Viking Makeup Shell and Jewelry Add-On for Genesis 9 | Daz 3D

but I am really struggling to see how to apply them to the figure, I can see them in my content but when I click them with my G9 figure selected nothing shows up, I got some other face paints from a different package and they were a layered item but these ones seem to not be layered., I am sure its something very basic I am missing but I am stuck as to how to get these to show up on the figure.

Can anyone help as to what I am doing wrong?

    That product is based on geoshells.

    Are you first applying the geoshell? I assume that there is an icon for it, but I don't have the product, so I don't know.

    I found an icon that you click first and then I assume that sets up the shell, face paints are now showing laugh
