Is it possible to cut g8 body parts with a clean cut ?

Is it possible to cut g8 body parts with a clean cut ?

I am using the geometry editot but that will not make a clean cut like the green curves shown in the image,

I'm trrying to use just the feet and half way up the leg

To keep the additional smoothing, export out the .obj - cut off what you don't want in a modeller, import back in the prop .obj. If all that is done is to cut off mesh, the uvmap should be the same. Select it and save as a prop figure.
If for a posed prop, pose the figure before export.

It's pretty simple in DS. While activating Geo Editor, just add the relevant face groups to the slection (click that plus sign) - lThigh, lFoot, lToes + RThigh, RFoot, RToes...

If need to modify polygons selection, Ctrl + LMB to add selection or Alt + LMB to subtract selection...

  • That method works for some but not all. For some reason attempting to delete many polygons in D/S tends to freeze my D/S.

Hmm~~ maybe case by case. To me, it's been so far so good, no matter for setting new set, deleting, grafting, etc. There used to be some lagging or freezing while using pretty older DS version, but now it seems much better in latest PB~

  • For sure "case by case" -- haven't tried yet on my new setup, should work well there {I hope}. Just thought I'd mention it because not all systems or whatever work the same.
