What is going off with PostgreSQL Server?

Despite not once connecting Daz Studio on launch, I can see that in the last month, the PostgreSQL server has uploaded 4.15 GB of my own private data to Daz. Thats 4.15 GB in less than a month. That is hugely unacceptable.

Can someone explain why Daz is downloading vast amounts of data from my PC without my consent? I consider this to be a very serious issue.

Where are you getting this figure? PostgreSQL does not communicate with Daz - at all as far as I am aware, certainly not without permission. It does use Internet Protocol to communicate with Daz Studio, but that traffic is confined to the host machine.

  • Netlimiter monitors all softwares, and exactly how much it has downloaded and uploaded.

And which IP address is it going to?

  • Hmm, when I go into Connection History, it`s all coming up blank for that app. Not sure how it`s showing 4.15 GB uploaded, but has no record of any connections. I guess it`s either showing incorrect information on the apps page, or some very thorough malicious software has infected PostgreSQL, to the point where it is hiding it`s connections, which I admit does sound a bit far fetched.

I`m still a bit worried about this, as I previously did get hacked so now i`m super wary about things like this. I hope you understand why I seemed a bit angry, but I do accept that this is unlikely anything to do with yourselves.

Thanks for getting back with a response so quickly

There is normally traffic, though I didn't realise it could be as much as that), using Internet Protocol but it is cofnined to your machine - it#s just the way the applications communicate. As long as there is no remote IP address off the local system what you are seeing is almost certainly legitimate, and not sending anything to anyone remote from you.
