Every Scene loads in completely dark -SOLVED-

Hi All, 

Not sure what's changed, but now when I load a scene in, the entire scene is completely blacked out. This never used to happen, but now it happens every scene or environment, and I am not changing or doing anything different. It's making posing a figure or placing a prop almost impossible. Adding in a scene or environment light does nothing until i hit render, and when I render it it comes up with all the lighting in tact. While that is okay, when trying to add items into a blackened zone I just cannot do it. Adding a light into the scene doesnt make it brighter either. Any help is appreciated

Try CTRL + L ...

Which will turn off the preview of the lights in the scene, using a pseudo-headlamp instead.
