This has been talked about in the past, but if you search in the forums there is no title for this.

To assist the community here is my take on getting out of trouble.

Why do you go back to compressed files again ? it's just causing problems and saves/load slower, sure it takes less space but harddisk prices are down to around $0.1 per giga byte or so, after i turned of compression I never went down that road again.

  • Yeah, I agree. Forget file compression. Also, always, always, save then exit the program. Never exit the program and when Carrara prompts for a save, save, as you could get corruption from a file not saving completely. If you do exit the program, and Carrara prompts for a save, cancel out of it, and then use the Save command, and then ext the program.
  • Hi guys.

The compressed = problems is not really an issue for me. I get perhaps one issue every 6 months. I am working on my animated series most days most times, saving perhaps an average of 20 files a day.

    I need the space.

I made the video to help those with similar problems to me (cant get rid of "missing" audio embeded in the file).

    Just sharing the journey. :)
