When using a large environment (ie Mandrica Bay) is there a trick way to move characters to a location? Or move the environment to center the area I want on my character?
As long as you are at ground level (ish) you can hold down alt (Win)/opt (Mac) and drag an item in from a content pane - you will get a target icon showing the temporary origin that the item will be loaded relative when you release the mouse button, then the modifier key.
You don't need to move the environment.. If the character is already in the scene, you may just select an object of or near the 'Location', Ctrl + C, then select the character, Ctrl + V, the figure will be 'moved' to the 'Location'.

Not every environment will have individually selectable items (though if a camera, rather than a view, is being used that could be the source of the coordinates).

Yes, it depends, but it's a common trick, isn't it.. Not sure if there's a Mandrica Bay, should be on Mandrakia Island ? That's a big scene indeed, better use Keyboard Navigation with full speed and seek if there're some 'reference object' or use some scripts...

If you need to move around the scene faster, open the Tool Settings pane and select Scene Navigator as your tool.
In addition to the options above, there is also the mcjComeHere Freebie script to move options into the viewport.
