Why RTX 3060 12 GB often run out of VRAM more often than 3080TI 12 GB?
Just by opening a scene, the vram used more than 50%. Leaving me impossible to render in iray.
I don't find this much problem with 3080ti 12 gb. I don't need to use a scene optimizer.
But with 3060 it becomes necessary, but causing a bit of issue with lighting, since stuffs is hidden, then the light bounce differently.

Are these cards in the same system or different systems?
If it's the same system, which are you using for video out?
If it's the 3060, your video settings might be too high, and the scene composition may just be using all that ram.
You can adjust your ouput settings in Edit>Preferences(f2)>Interface tab.
Do you have Nvidia Iray as your viewport, as opposed to texture shaded or what ever?
If so, switch to a different mode and that should recover the lost vram. Might need to close and reload though.
Do you have other programs running?
If so, close them, rendering and video output don't mix well.
just the first things off the top of my head.
I use to have 3080ti 12gb, but it get shorted.
Now, I'm back to use 3060 12 gb.
I started notice the difference.
Closing stuffs, only give a little free up.
I use texture shaded on viewport.
Just look at this, just right after I finisehd render something, the vram usage is getting even higher.
