The Return of the Flexithings - bendable figures
They are very simple things but if you can remember you have them they can be useful
https://sites.google.com/site/mcasualsdazscripts/flexithings
( they fell off the site's indexes that's why i say "the return" )

I like your things...lol, they can be very useful. Now all I need is flat strips that are rectangular and triangle shaped, with ability to adjust length and width.
if you can animate a few null nodes along a path
then with a script like mcjRibbons or mcjTransport, you can make rectangular and triangular shaped straps easily
ex:
https://sites.google.com/site/mcasualsdazscripts/mcjribbons
Video:
i place 6 Null-nodes so they form a triangle
2 Null-nodes per corner in prevision of subD
i parent them to a node named "cone"
i keyframe cone at frame 0
i go to frame 30
i move cone 1 meter forth
i keyframe cone
i return to frame 0 and keyframe it again because the old key didnt "stick"
i select my 6 null nodes in an ordered fashion, counter-clockwise in my example
note that the timeline playrange is set to cover only frames o to 30, that's important
i start mcjRibbons
See Fig2
i checkmark the "close profile option because i want my triangle to be welded
i dont checkmark 'close path' because i'm making a straight strap not a ring
i used the UV option also
i click the "Save button"
and i tell mcjRibbons to create my prop as the obj/wavefront file I:\z\tritube.obj
i import tritube.obj (File/Import) using the Poser Scale Preset
and there you have it a triangular tube
If you want to add stretching morphs to something
it's also not too complicated (compared to my other scripts )
to use mcjAddStretchMorph

Ok I grabbed all 3 files on that page, the video you linked here and pdf creator for this page and the one you linked to, so hopefully I figure it out. Have not yet attempted to use any animate puppeteer or timeline for anything, but my son says he knows how it works and will show me...here's hoping for the best.
