Uh weird, it deleted my desktop shortcut so I typed Daz into windows and used that Daz to launch which shows as the white you see in the pic. When I open Daz through Daz Central its loads correctly but its verion 4.14 and not 4.20..
You probably updated while Daz Studio was running. You need to close Daz Studio and make sure it has fully stopped (check in the Task Manager). You need to install again after Daz Studio is fully stopped. You might have to uninstall before reinstalling; I'm not sure.
I definitely think that Bar above me is on the right track here.
But to also answer the question.... if you customized your UI and are satisfied with the results it's very important to save your changes. You can do that by pressing F4. Once you did that you can restore the saved layout by using the Window menu: Window => Workspace => Select layout...
