Male anatomical elements dimensions only available in full body settings???

I've dug through the forums to the best of my ability, and I can't find any threads or solutions with my particular issue.  I've gone back to 2015 and tried the suggested actions, but the recommended settings aren't present in my version of DAZ Studio.  I'm running DAZ Studio 4.21 Pro, and I'm VERY confused by what I'm seeing.  I'm hoping someone can explain this to me please - or at least can confirm this is happening to more than just me.  I'm not sure if it's a bug, a major change, or what.

I bought the Genesis 9 Anatomical Elements pack yesterday, and I had virtually no control over it.  I applied it to my male character, and it was not what I needed for this character to do what I need it to do.  Anyway, I was looking for the suggested settings and couldn't find them until moments ago, and this became a completely different post while I was writing it.  I completely stumbled on the settings specifically for the male genitals by accident.

It appears these settings only appear when the full body is selected, not when the genitals are selected.  What I found insofar as advisory said to select the genitals.  However, I can only adjust the length and width by selecting the entire body of the character, then selecting Genesis 9 Anatomical Elements in the tree under the Posing tab.  I thought this was strange, so I figured I'd ask if anyone else could only find these settings here.  Is this how it works for everyone else now?

I also have some follow-up questions because I ran into some hiccups:

  1. No matter what method I try, this thing stays paper white.  How do I actually get a MAT to work on it so I can give it some human pigmentation?
  2. What I use doesn't have setting for this area.  What do you use to add vascularity to this part?

Materials for anatomical elements, is only with some characters. Look in the description, and if anatomical elements is not listed expect that it isn't.

I made a UV hack where I used the body material for the genitals. It kind of works, but have much less details. It is in the Freebi section.

Number of morphs for anatomical elements is limited. Third party sites may have packs with more.

Some are using 3rd party anatomical elements, as they provide more options, and doesn't require a specific material with the character.

Thanks a bunch!  So, there's a chance I can't match the skin tone of my character for now, right?  I appreciate you mentioning yours.  I'll try to find it.  I started with Fabrice, so I guess that one doesn't have anatomical elements.  What about your size adjustment settings?  Do yours appear the same way?  Do you have to select the full body as well?

I cannot find a Fabrice character.

This is the freebie I was talking about https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/601056/alternativ-uv-map-for-g9-male-anatomical-elements#latest

It uses that I made an alternativ UV map for anatomical elements to match the body material, so essentially using the body material. Is described in the post.

Fabrice is one of the new characters for Gen9 now included in the G9 Starter Essentials. Like all the other figures in Starter Essentials there are no anatomical element textures.

I wonder why they went that direction when they offer a pack with anatomical elements.  It seems kind of strange.  I wonder which characters have the mats included and are usable.  I'm not even a week into actual usage, so I'm still learning how this is all set up.

You're a miracle worker!  I couldn't spot that thread to save my life!  Thank you so much!  This is going to help tremendously.

If you select the gens and then look on the Parameters tab in the "Actor" section, there are a few settings. If you find the limits too conservative, you can click the little gear icon that glows above a setting when you hover over it, choose Parameter Settings from the menu that pops up, and change the value for Max.

DAZ doesn't offer anything for customized shaping if you want a character who is a little different down there, but some of the PAs offer shaped anatomy with their characters. My advice is that if you do nude renders, test each adult character as soon as you buy it, and if one doesn't include the mats you need, refer to DAZ's return policy. Usually the product description contains a mention of anatomical element materials, and it's best to look there first, but everyone makes mistakes sometimes. Characters representing minors never include these mats, nor should they.

Some of the PAs just never include the mats for nudity. You can learn who they are and then simply avoid their products.

OMG!  I'm tweaking!  I can't believe I didn't see it over there this whole time!  I accidentally found it in my Poses tab on my right side when I selected the full body.  Now I have even more settings in the Parameters tab.  I didn't even know I could control circumcision.  I thought I would have to find a material for that, but I can just flip it on and off like a switch.  Thanks!  This is even better.  Seeing how it's structured over here, now I understand why it's under the full body.  All the other stuff is under the Parameters tab too, so this fits the mold.

Yeah, I agree with you about the young sprites.  There's absolutely no need for them to have the parts.

I can live without the custom shaping.  I just need the average shape of varying sizes because no one's giving much feedack about form in that area.  There's a lot more talk about the rest of the male figure though.  I'll lean into musculature and body type until this first game drops, then I'll see if anyone makes any specific requests for the private parts.

There's supposed to be some legendary DAZ character that has AE mats included, but I can't recall what they said the name is.  Then again, I'm not even sure if it's a Gen 9 character.

I'd like to learn more about the game you're working on!

I'm pleased games are including more realistic bodies these days. I can't wait for Baldur's Gate 3 to come out on XBOX.

I don't know what you mean about the legendary character, but you can message me if you want. I don't have many G9 characters yet, but maybe I can still help give you some recommendations about what to buy.

I'm making an AVN about the entertainment industry.  Much of it draw from the real experiences of myself and people in my network.  It's adult for good (really meaning: sometimes good, and not always so good) reason.  I can't say a whole lot without spoiling it, but it's a multi-part series.  There are four books [read: games] in the first saga, then two more sagas after that to complete the apologue.  It's a very real look at the lives of artists, particularly through the eyes of entertainers.  But it's something that pretty much most, if not all, professional artists can relate to in some way.  It's going to be pretty raw, with lots of humor, and all the dark and dirty stuff too.  If I can build a full team after the first release, I want to include more types of artists in the narrative because there's a significant overlap across forms.  With so much collaboration, however, it's a heavy task to write and program all of it alone.  I'll need more writers and programmers to join in eventually.  Getting to the demo and crowdfunding stage is already a pretty big undertaking.

I'm super excited to see even more realistic characters in the future.  I'm marveling at Genesis 9 as it is.  All of these metahuman technologies are blowing my mind.  It's not just making characters that don't exist look like real human beings, we can even replicate real people and make the renders look like photos.  That's crazy!  Just when I thought I had seen the most impressive models to date, I find or produce some ven more impressive ones.  Just as excited as I am to see the future, I'm also terrified.  I think about what the internet is going to look like.  Games, movies, and shows will look spectacular.  But it'll also be a lot easier to fake an identity.

As for Genesis 9, ugh, I started less than two weeks ago and went straight into Genesis 9.  I thought everyone would be on Genesis 9 and didn't want to be behind.  I was so wrong.  Most are still using Genesis 8 and Genesis 8.1.  The updates I expected to see haven't really come yet.  I mean, I don't regret it because my first character is GORGEOUS, but it cost me a ton of time looking for tutorials and digging through the store to get there.  Early adoption is a lonely road.  Fortunately, you can save on costs by converting your characters.  I wish I had found that out sooner lol But I don't regret it because the overall design was completed in a day.  It was this thread that marked my first hiccup.  I've got two more characters baking that are almost finished.  I just have another hiccup to resolve.  To stay on topic, I'll have to create a new thread for that one.  I hope someone can figure it out because I am baffled by this one; straight up stumped and unable to find anyone with the exact same issue or information on how to resolve it.
