Freebie Challenge October 2023 - "Hallowed Night" - Main Thread

It is that time of the year once again!
The time for all the ghosts and Gouls to come out and play for you all
So we want to see all your Hallowed Night creatures and magical mayhem!!
New rule: The use of image generating AI technology (midjourney, stable diffusion, etc.) is not allowed. The use of items (freebies or paid) that have been created with such technology is also not allowed. We realise it's not always easy to tell; let's all use our best judgement, and you can always ask the person hosting the contest if you're not sure.
The Rules For This Months Freebie Challenge are:
1. A minimum of (5) Freebies must be included in your image along with Links to the freebies you have used. For an item to be considered free it must be offered as a freebie for the whole month. The exception to this rule is all Daz Bi-Weeklo do magic according to you!!!y Freebies will be allowed throughout the entire month in which they are free as well as the month following their release as a freebie (For a total of 2 months). Also, if a freebie is broken down into multiple downloads/links/parts (IE like if the freebie is broken down into 3 zips etc...)it only counts as 1 freebie, not 3.
2. There will be a Maximum of 5 purchased items.
3. Base figures (All Gen 2,3,4, and Genesis 1,2,3) as well as their general morphs packs (Morphs++ and similar) do not count as a purchased item or a freebie and may be used as needed
4.Your Rendered Picture must be a new render and postwork is allowed but you MUST include a before and after Postwork versions of your entry in the Entry Thread.
5. All DAZ 3D Programs are allowed (IE Bryce, Carrara, Daz Studio and Hexagon) plus Poser for the contest.
6. All entries are subject to the Daz3D TOS Found Here: Terms Of Service
7. You may enter a Maximum of 4 Entries per month.
8. You may edit your entry as much as you like in the main thread but once it is posted to the "Entries Thread" it may not be further modified. Also, if you edit or add things, be sure you update any links or freebie changes you make.

i swear: i usually always save at least every 30mins. Always, but not today. For once i forgot to save because all was floating so well.. and during the render my system freezes and all is lost.
Nothing left. i did not even save the setting before doing the lighting. i could kick myself ;)
5-6 hrs of work gone....
Anyways. i got the setting in my mind. Got the freebies ready. Lets hope i can get close to what i had done before.

Not really satisfied how the pentagram emission turned out and therefore i will go on fiddling with it for a while.
If i cant get it where i want it to be, i will try render in canvases and do it during postwork.

EDIT: i eventually decided to move the pentgram around the toilet.. thats where it started in my first iteration.
i thought i needed to put it in a more prominent place as it was emitting the main light, but it just didn`t fit the picture that way.
Therefore i moved it back again and rightfully so. in the end, its all the shit that happened, that brought him there.
Now the pentagram is exactly where it belongs. ;)
During postwork, i lost some of the darks at the upper half. i might decide to adjust it a little bit later. but i need to let it sink in a bit further before i decide.
I don`think there will be any major changes anymore.
Couldn`t let go...
This one is much less colourful, but probably serves the mood better. What do you think?
Should i go for this style or the previous one?
EDIT: btw. ... when are these challenges resolved? Due to the fact, that the last month has not yet been resolved although already a third of the new one has passed,
i was tempted to use this for the new user "atmosphere" challenge instead. Wouldn`t have been correct to do so, because although i used this one for experimenting towards the new user theme,
i did not create it particularly for that challenge.
But i wonder...
EDIT 2: added, what will be, most likely, the final iteration. - i did not like the lamp. it seemed out of place and did not really contribute to the overall scene. and i disliked the distracting yellow lines on the bandana.
while i would have prefered to render a new one with a different style, this would have also meant to redo all the postwork and i was not up for that. already done this one the second time. maybe one day...
for now it had to be a postwork adjustment to tone it down. also added a little bit of cloud to its bottom and sides. more a subtle change, but i thought it needed that.

Thank you for your kind words! I like that "Constantine vibe" wording. Very creative in itself.
I have to admit, that i do not like Halloween very much. When i was young, at our place we were doing "trick or treat" as well, but on "Rose Monday" (carnival monday).
Halloween only became a thing one or two decades later and i believe, for commercial benefit only. It kinda killed the old tradition that i had fond memories of.
Therefore "hallowed night" as a theme had some negative connotation. But the song "hallowed be thy name", a favourite of my younger years, almost immediately came to my mind.
I had some doubts, that my interpretation could probably be a bit too dark for a competition like this, but i am very relieved to find out, that at least one person came to like it.

it might be the limits of my imaginations. but Walpurgisnacht never came to my mind as an option for a theme like "hallowed night". But seeing it "of course..." - isn`t it obvious?
believe it or not: the one thing i like most about your entry, is the blurred goat, standing on top of the hill, in front of the moon. such an incredible, thoughtful detail. it adds so much!
While the overall picture is already great, and there are more prominent parts to pick, for me, the goat is the main protagonist in this composition.
If that was your goal, i could not tell. it would be impressive by itself. but thats the way i perceive it. and i like it.
