Create New Camera Options

Would some one please be good enough to explain the difference between these Create New Camera options: Copy Active View : <PerspectiveView> and Apply Active Viewport Transforms : <Perspective View>? Thanks to one and all, very much indeed!

  • The latter just copies the position and orientation of the perspective view (you can't select it as a node to se them, but it does have the standard properties): all the camera-specific settings are at default. The former copies all properties from the Perspective View, including things like Focal Length.

If you have your view just the way you want it, but realize you are in Perspective view, instead of using a camera, create a new camera and choose Copy Active View: Perspective View. Then change to view through your new camera. When you save the scene, the camera view will be saved. When you save a scene, Perspective View is NOT saved. So creating that camera is important if you want to save the scene and reopen it to the same view.
  • @ Richard Haseltine, @ barbult Thank you very much for your answers.  I do really appreciate your taking the time to explain.
