dsx file question

I'm about to release a character but I noticed I don't have the dsx file that goes in the Support folder. There is also a dsa file (yes, I just saw it!)... do I need them? Can I release without those files?

The Support folder has the metadata files for each product. If this is a product for sale at Daz, they will create it, vendors do not need to supply metadata. If this is something you will be giving away, or sending somewhere else, you can include it if you like. If not, DIM will generate a minimum set to at least create the Product and its assets in the database when it is installed. If you have added any metadata to your product (content type, compatibility, etc.) you can export it from the Content DB Editor (from a Product view, not Content Library) and add it to your package. Well-prepared metadata requires a fair amount of attention. Product Name, Token, StoreID, Artist Name, Product GUID, Content Type, Default Category, Compatibilies, CompatibilityBase, ObjectCompatibility, Support Assets, and other optional fields.

Thank you! I didn't even know the existence of the Content DB Editor! Do I need to edit that too? I hope not. Will my character work without those files and without edit that editor? It's just a morph for G9 with displacement textures and some Strand Based Hair.

Your product will work without it, but there will not be much Smart Content support. Not a big deal, but more of a convenience for users.

Thank you very much! I'll skip those files then.
