Any Mac users currently using DAZ Studio to Photoshop Bridge?

I'm trying to get DAZ Studio to Photoshop (2024) Bridge to work. I ran the PS Bridge install from DIM, but it doesn't look like it's installed to Photoshop 2024. It should be there in the PS Plugins' folder correct? The only thing in the PS-2024 Plugins folder is a 'Generate' folder.

  • OK, it looks like it's installing it into an older version of PS on my Mac, Photoshop 2022.

I can drag the DAZ3D Plugins folder over to the Photoshop 2024 Plugins folder, but wouldn't I need to direct DAZ Studio to the newer version of Photoshop 2024. Seems that if DIM installed it to the older PS 2022, that DAZ Stiudio will try to look for it there to connect. Is this correct, or am I misunderstanding how they communicate?

Install Manager will install based on the location set for Photoshop in the Advenced Settings>Applications tab.

Can someone help me out with the launching 'Photoshop Bridge' process? What is the correct sequence to make this work? FYI, I'm working on a Mac, latest versions on everything.

From within Daz Studio, I can see the 'File / Send to / Initialize Photoshop 3D Bridge'. But when I click on it nothing happens. As in, the screen view changes in Daz Studio, but then I see nothing happening in Photoshop 2024. Also, in looking around Photoshop 2024, I can't see any indication of the DAZ 3D Plugin. I can confirm that the pluygin is in the Plugins folder in PS 2024, But can't see it from within Photoshop. (I haven't used DAZ Bridge in years, but seems that it use to be located in the File Menu in PS.)

  • A follow up: I notice that although there is a 'Send to Photoshop Bridge' in the File menu as mentioned above, If I look at DAZ Studio / Preferences / Bridges, it lists Bryce, Hexagon, and GoZ. It does not list Photoshop there. Should it?

Currently still can't get Photoshop to acknowledge DAZ Studio. Thoughts?

Adobe removed the all 3D functionality from Photoshop awhile back. So would probably be the reason why the bridge no longer works, more so if you are using the latest version of Photoshop.

Well that wouildn't make since, as 3D Bridge to Photoshop simply allowed you to see an Object / Character in 2D as a layer in photoshop. Thus allowiing proper placement into your photoshop 'background image' file. You could then rotate the object in Daz Studio and it would refresh to the new view in your Photoshop file, again, as a dedicated layer.

All the Bridges are still available in the Daz Store (Hexagon, Photoshop, etc.).

I assume this means they should still work as advertised. 'Photoshop Bridge' comes in the current Daz Studio Bundle.

After thinking about this, I thought I will see if I can get it to work, and after a bit of messing around, I stand corrected it does work even with the latest version of Photoshop CC. I thought after Adobe had removed the 3D options from Photoshop I thought it would no longer work. But it does which is very cool, and on that the location of the Daz Bridge in Photoshop is under the, File > Automate tab within there you should see Daz Studio 3D Bridge option.

    Hey Ghostly12,

Thanks for checking it out and making sure it works. Glad to hesr its working for you.(I see youre on a PC. FYI, I'm working on an iMac Pro.)

On the Mac side, the 'PS to Bridge' plugin gets installed to: - Applications / Adobe Photoshop 2024 / Plugins / DAZ 3D / psdzbridge.plugin

Is it similar in the PC?

I remember the DAZ Menu in Photoshop as your screenshot shows, from when I used it years ago. That's where it was on the Mac too. I was still using CS6 PS. This is my first attempt to install it since I moved over to PS CC. My problem currently is that menu is not even available. It's like Photoshop isn't seeing it.

    Any thoughts?

Or..., are there any Mac users who can add any input on this???

    Thx!

With PC when using Daz Install Manager, the plugin has to be pointed to where the Photoshop executable file is located. In my case it is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2024. I do have the same plugin folder, although I have four files in the Photoshop Daz 3D plugin folder.

These are the 4 files I have in that folder.
    psdzbridge.8li

    psdzbridge.exp

    psdzbridge.ilk

    psdzbridge.lib

    Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah, really can't see what the problem might be. Hopefully another Mac user will offer their insights. Hoping I'm missing something simple here, At this point can't imagine what . frown

So I've had a 'Support Ticket' in at DAZ3D for a month now on this issue, with NO response. As in, not even an ackowledgement that they've seen it. I have even posted foillow up replies to hoepfully bring it to someones attention, ...but crickets.

My first post on this was in December and still no solution.

Can anyone, help with how to make DAZ Studio Bridge to Photoshop CC work, on a Mac system??? indecision

I cannot offer a solution but can confirm that it doesn't appear to work "as it should". I've never used it before but have it installed since I have Photoshop and Daz on my iMac. According to DIM, the files are installed to Photoshop 2023 - and when I look in that location in Finder I can see the psdzbridge.plugin "file" there. However Photoshop itself does not appear to acknoledge this: No related menu item under File/Automate, no item under About/Plugins and nothing in any of them items under the Plugins menu.

Thanks, that's what I'm seeing too. And unfortunately, DAZ isn't responding to support on it.

    Hi again,

So member 'Ghosty12' in this thread has confirmed that this DAZ to Photoshop Bridge feature still works on their Windows machine. Myself and at least one other here have now tested and tried to get it working on our Macs, but are having the same issue. Even though the DAZ Bridge Plugin is located in the plugins folder in Photoshop, the dialog box simply doesn't appear in Photoshop thus giving you no access to launching DAZ to Photoshop Bridge. Can't be used.

I have had an Open Support Ticket on this for a month now, with no response from their Support team. As in, no acknowledgement at all that they've even reviewd the ticket. Should I sumbit another ticket, restating the same issue?

Or is there any other way to contact DAZ Productions for actual Support Help?? As in, an actual direct Support Phone Number?

    Reeeeeaaaally frustrated here.

There is no phone number for support - as you can imagine they would be utterly swamped if there was. I fear you may just have to be patient with the support ticket - opening another one is unlikely to help and "bumping" your existing ticket is likely to have the opposite effect.  Unfortunately, Mac support is likely to be a lower priority than Windows by virtue of user-base and also since the ticket is for a free item then it also may also be de-prioritised over support for paid-items.

Does anyone know if Photoshop has a run-log? I've never needed to debug Photoshop but if it has one then it may give a clue as to why it's ignoring the plugin.

EDIT: It seems there is a log for Photoshop but it's useless :(

EDIT2: Help/System Info is a bit more useful in that it atleast seems to show some info about the plugins. However, it just says that it found none :(

Despite, closing Photoshop, uninstalling the plugin (and watching it disappear from the folder), then re-installing it (and watching it be put back in the folder) and then restarting Photoshop it's still not listed:

Optional and third party plugins: NONE

    Duplicate and Disabled plugins: NONE

Plugins that failed to load: NONE

This would indicate that perhaps there is something wrong with the plugin that Photoshop is not acknowledging it since it didn't even show it under the items that failed to load.
