Way to restore the recent documents option 4.22

I used the 'open' 'recent documents' feature a ton, and now that is gone in 4.22 replaced by the open option with the splash screen. Is there a way to place it back where it was?

    Yes, Richard posted a link to a sample script that did just that. I'll have to go looking for it again.

    OK, here is the sample script. Just save it and run it.

    Yeah! I never realized how much I used that until it went away. Thanks for letting me know how to restore it.
