G8F Rigging Completely Destroyed

I was working away, doing fine and making progress. Then just like that, my G8F's rigging broke. And not just for one character. This is something to do with my core G8F figure.

This appears to effect the whole body, anything that is designed to make real bends. M6 G8M figure doesn't seem to be effected.

The only thing I've been doing that somewhat meddles with geometry has been attempting to apply a dForce Dynamic Surface to a sweater and a shirt to fit them to some custom figures. But so far as I'm aware, I only applied the custom morphs to the clothing, not my figure.

I'm not even sure how to troubleshoot this to solve the mystery, much less to fix it. I was hoping to have some content ready by Sunday, but my plans are hosed unless I figure this out. Please advise.

  • I should add that I've already uninstalled & reinstalled both G8F, her Head & Body Morphs, and DAZ Studio 4.22. No help.

Go to Parameters pane, hamburger menu - Show Hidden Properties. Select Currently Used,  then show us what you find...(the properties with values)...

  • I've been making use of RiverSoft Arts's Turbo Loader for Genesis 8 & 8.1. Re-enabling all the morphs I'd disabled with that addon somehow seems to have resolved the issue.

Although I don't think that really solves the problem of what actually happened, as that tool has worked beautifully for a long time. Indeed, I was on a productivity surge when this issue popped up quite abruptly while setting up a scene with characters long established to work fine in production. But now that the problem is gone, I can at least play catch up on my planned project.

If anyone has any best practices on how to keep my G8 figures from spontaneously exploding while using RS Turbo Loader in the future, I welcome any input. Thanks for your time in any case.

The correct and safest way of using Turbo Loader is always deactivating / activating morphs by Product rather than by File.  For instance, if only deactivating body morphs under a character, the 2nd Stage Controlling on this character's corrective morphs will be gone. Then when posing a Base figure, the corrective morphs of this character will be dialed, which is definitely wrong.

I will keep this in mind; thank you!
