Gen9 eyes on FaceShop character

I used FaceShop to create a new character from a photo. Everything worked great, except the eyes are hazy and the wrong color. I tried using the Gen9 Base material eyes both selecting the whole figure, then just the head, then just the eyes, but nothing changes. I need the eye color darker and the eyes brighter with no 'haze'. Can anyone help?
