2nd hand clothing

I mainly use genesis 8 characters but are starting to use Genesis 9.

I find that cllothes are too pristine or are total rags.

Maybe a set of well worn but quite funcional clothes especialy work related.

I would think that you could use normal cloth, but with another shader, or like this, an overlay https://www.daz3d.com/fsl-dirty-overlay-shaders

I have the product @felis recommended and another group of shaders by @MartinJFrost that might help you take a 'new' outfit and age it slightly as if one picked it up at a resale store, or rediscovered it in your closet are the ILFS product line:

If you don't already own them, I recommend reading the 'Details' on promo pages before thinking they won't work for you. They will add flexibility to your complete shader collection.

I think this is something better done with altering existing texture maps for the garments vs applying shaders. Clothing doesn't show signs of wear evenly across its surfaces. Opening the texture files in Photoshop or Gimp, and dodging, burning, and/or blurring wear it would show signs of wear would give a more realistic look.

Else you could in an image editing program create a mask for where the cloth should be worn and then use that to control where the shader should be visible.
