Aurora Basic Hand Poses - strange behavior

Hello,

I found a strange behavior regarding the 'Aurora Basic Hand Poses and Props Collection for Victoria 9' (90830). First, I used one of the Phone poses and it worked perfectly well: hand correctly posed and the phone prop placed properly. Fine.

Two frames later, though, I used another one of the same pose set (trying to place the phone in the other hand, different pose) and it just didn't work. The hand wasn't posed and the phone prop was placed somewhere. I made sure the nodes weren't locked or something, it just did not work. For testing, I used another pose from the set, this time one without a prop. It worked perfectly well. Therefore, I tried another pose with a prop (one of the Cigarette poses) and it again did not work.

It seems, the plain poses work correctly, but once a prop is put into the scene, all other prop + poses don't work. This is also the case when I completely delete the prop from the scene before using the next one, even when I completey zero the whole figure.

What might be the reason for this strange behavior? Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting that might be used by the pose set I need to reset before using the next one?

Comments

  • I don't have any answer to that, other than I can't get the poses to load at all. The prop attaches to the hand, but the hand stays perfectly still.

    Ah, messy.

Maybe the artist (@aurora) is willing to explain how to use this correctly?

    I don't have it.

Does it work if you first restore the pose before applying the new?

I couldn't reproduce the issue you have... it works on my side. Pls see if this video show what you wanted - https://mega.nz/file/bHp1kBbA#If8PWXK8fzkS4AtHfNza5yxa-XQ4LcXz0yTC_TUBXG8

However, the real problem is that all Presets in this product were made in a wrong way. Each "Pose Preset" was actually made as a Wearable Preset... Wearable Presets never check Rotation Limits (values on joint rotations are all wrong if you Limit rotaions by default...) as well as make any keyframes work on Timeline. You can see the problem in the above video.

Instead, the correct way should've been: make a Werable Preset for the Phone first, then make Pose Presets accordingly... User loads the Phone first, then the Pose Preset.

As a workaround, suggest you follow this thread to modify a couple of Presets to see if they'll work on your side - https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/8423991/#Comment_8423991

Here's the video of the correct results - https://mega.nz/file/KPYwhZyY#umj3GSSOGdVY-TqUbmwBmoEsAhDKoT3lvEk_crZelpM

Then submit a ticket asking for a fix or refund if you want to...
