Sky Dome Floors

I always seemed to get lousy sharp lines when I tried to add a floor with texture to a sky dome.  So I made one like a thick old fashion dinner plate and made tramsparency masks for the very edge of it.  Then made it a tiny bit too large so it would slice throught he dome all the way around.  The graduated fading idea was to allow the two images to layer and merge better.  Progress on this idea and it seems workable.  I just grabbed my latest DM set purchase to use as a stand in on the floor but the area of interest (not that I do not really like the new set) is the join between the dome and the grass in the background.  The AoA grass has 4 color zones and adjustable mixing.  I found that fiddling with these four colors could greatly improve the match of the grass to nature image on the dome I was working with.  With the right setting the grass would even try to peek up through the tiles in the floor in a somewhat believable fashion.  Mostly just an attempt to solve this problem for my own use in something I could plunk down anything into and be able to photograph around it from any angle and not worry about running out of backdrop.  But the blasted razor cut line where the inserted floor meets the dome was spoiling everything.
