Environment is set up as a figure?

I bought a new environment set of an apartment at another website. Once I got into it, I realized I wanted to make some tweaks and I needed to duplicate a wall so I could split the layout. The only problem is, the set seems to be set up as a figure instead of object props. Like...Daz thinks all the walls are bones / joints, they can't be unparented or duplicated. I've never seen that setup in any other architectural set I've bought. Is there any way for me to break it up and duplicate the pieces I need?

There are certainly other environments, even ones sold in the Daz store, that are set up like figures. If you wanted to separate out individual components, you'd need to import it into another program like Blender and re-export as OBJ. DS imports OBJ as a single mesh, so if you just load that into Blender and export it as OBJ as-is, you still wouldn't have the kind of control you're looking for, so you could either set it up the way you want it in Blender and then export the whole thing as OBJ, or export individual components (like, for example, the wall you want to add).

Ugh, that is really annoying, but I really appreciate your answer!

You can also use Geometry Editor in DS to split the Figure into pieces, by selecting the surface(s) you want, hide the rest and export to OBJ file firstly, then import OBJ file back to DS as a single Prop.

It's doable in most cases but it'll take some time...

You may be able to add another copy of the environment to your scene, then make all its walls/bones invisble except the one you want, then move that wall to where you want it.

The scenes made up of separate objects approach seems (to me) to be more common in older content, the walls-as-bones approach seems to be the preferred modern style.
